Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data through the playersengine.com landing page (the "Site"). It covers only the Site — the product beta at beta.playersengine.com has its own separate privacy policy.
The data controller is Nic Vannetti, doing business as Players Engine, Italy. Contact: info@playersengine.com.
What we collect
When you submit the "Notify Me" or "Request Beta Access" form, we collect:
- Email address — the one you entered.
- Source label — which form you used (hero / CTA / modal), to understand signup channels.
- Timestamp — when you submitted.
- Hashed IP address — your IP is hashed (SHA-256) before storage so we can rate-limit abuse without retaining the original IP.
- User agent string — your browser identifier, truncated to 256 characters.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 also collects pseudonymous usage data (pages viewed, click events, screen size, anonymised approximate location). See our Cookie Policy for the full list.
Why we collect it
- To send you a single confirmation email and, when the platform launches, the launch announcement (or, for beta requests, an invite code).
- To rate-limit signups and prevent abuse.
- To understand which marketing channels work (analytics, only with your consent).
Lawful basis: consent (for marketing emails and analytics) and legitimate interest (for rate-limiting and security).
Where it's stored
- Google Firestore, region eur3 (Belgium / Netherlands), under Google Cloud Platform. Google is a data processor.
- Resend (the transactional email service that delivers the confirmation email). Resend acts as a data processor. Their servers may be in the EU or the US.
- Google Analytics 4, only if you accept analytics cookies. Anonymised IP, processed by Google in the US.
How long we keep it
Your email and signup metadata are retained until launch (planned 2026–2027), after which they're either (a) used once to send the launch announcement and then deleted, or (b) deleted sooner if you ask us to.
If you click the unsubscribe link in any email, your email's hash is added to a suppression list and we don't email you again. The original signup record is purged on the next housekeeping pass.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you're in the EU / UK, you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
- Withdraw consent at any time (unsubscribe link or email us).
- Lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
Reach us at info@playersengine.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Cookies and tracking
See the Cookie Policy for the full list, and click "Cookie settings" in the footer to change your consent at any time.
Changes
If we materially change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. For users whose email we already hold, a notification email will go out before the change takes effect.
